Spam!

The number of spam comments I've gotten on some of my old LJ entries has grown to excessive amounts! It's driving me crazy! I know I'm not the only one having this issue. I hate to take away anonymous commenting, because I do hear from a few people who don't have LJ journals and I appreciate hearing from them. And as this past weekend has shown,

I've been getting them, but I just ignore them. They are old posts anyway, but I think friends locked entries don't get spam. You could lock your LJ to friends.

Yeah, I've been deleting Spam from my inbox daily. I mostly just ignore it myself since, like with Erikah, it's mostly older posts where it ends up. But the fact that it's increasing in number is just ridiculous.

Oh, man, I KNOW! I've been drowning in a sea of spam. I turned off anonymous comments, and then started getting a ton of it from registered accounts. I've been flocking entries that seem to be getting a lot of it, and otherwise just trying to ignore it and hope that it goes away soon. Several people on my flist have restricted their LJs to friends-only commenting, but I hate to do that because I do have quite a lot of commenters that I don't have friended, especially on my fic.

I hope it's just a temporary thing, and eventually they'll get bored and go away. Because otherwise, it's going to make LJ unbearable.

I had to ban anonymous commenting after getting literally 100 spam messages. Maybe I'll undo it in a month or so and see what happens...
