Pathetic: Elliott is away at a conference in Newport for the next week, making this our longest separation since just after graduation when he moved up here a month before I did. That was 4 years ago. It's deathly quiet in the house; even the cats are quiet, which is fairly unusual.  So I'm trying to keep myself occupied, and in some ways
