Kay, well I just finished watching Brokeback Mountain. Can I just say something? OVER-HYPED MOVIE OF THE YEAR. You prolly know where I'm heading w/ this, so if you treasure the movie like it's a masterpiece, I suggest you stop reading right now.
Well, I had to dl it because niether FireFighter Will nor Raymond wanted to go see it w/ me at the movies (gee, I wonder why lol) and I'm glad I didn't see it w/ them. They would have been so mad at me! Okay first, it was so utterly boring. No Zombies. No gun fights. No ninja assassins. Secondly, too long. This tale could have been told in an hour and 30 mins tops. Thirdly, I failed to see exactly what point Enis and Jack fall in love. I dunno, to me it seemed liked Enis was just damn horny that night and wanted to be relieved and Jack was the only thing around, so he made do. It's understandable. This type of thing happens in prisons all the time (or so I've heard...), but nobody is running through the hills yelling that the inmates are in love. Afterwards, Enis was all like it was a one time thing, fruit cake and Jack was all like WHATEVER!. Next thing you know, Enis is quitting jobs, neglecting his daughters, treating his wife like shit just to go fuck Jack at a mountain. Huh? What the hell?! I understand why he wouldn't be open about it, but that reason doesn't justify living a lie and making your own family suffer for your own selfish reasons. Kinda hard to feel sympathy for a guy like that. Jack dying was sad, I guess, but again, he was kinda permiscuous and the movie fails to provoke sad feelings for him. I've seen Disney movies sadder than this.
Again, an alright movie, but totally overhypped.
