[Yeah, it will, but they have to believe they are doing something. Last thing they need is Alex showing up while they are outside the village.]

I'm glad. I would like to know someone from the same world better and getting to know this place better seems like a good idea.

I was thinking of leaving in a few days actually. I have obtained a detailed map and need to plan a route for us over the mountains. [Because he wants to avoid the tunnels.] The fountain seems to be a good meeting spot since it is central enough. [And close to the shops in case they need to grab anything at the last minute.]

[Oh. A trip. Alone with. Piers. This is kind of awkward, but he can't exactly refuse. Besides, this is a great opportunity to get to know Piers too...if Alex doesn't show up. B|]

Besides discussion, what else do you plan to do there?

I'll be honest, I want to know if Alex is going to be a threat to us and others. The only way to figure that out is to learn everything we can about this place.

A reasonable course of action, to be sure.

I...do not think he will be an active threat.

[That part is mostly to himself though. He's still a bit "..." on the whole threat thing, seeing as he's done nothing but...help him the entire time here. What.

[Yeah, this is Alex. He only does things for his own benefit, including being helpful. If he's not a threat to them now, he was likely to become one eventually.]

It's the only course of action. The only way we can know if he's going to be a threat is to find out what he could want here.

[GODDAMMIT CAMELOT JUST TELL US WHAT HE WANTS ALREADY A pause, to think about their encounter...every time he thinks about Alex, he gets irritated.]

That would be the difficult part. Kraden did remark that he's always been entirely inscrutable.

[...right. He probably forgot to tell Piers that Kraden's still alive 30 years from now.]

[Why yes, he did. Though it's not too surprising.]

And Kraden would know very well. As far as I understand he, Felix, and Jenna traveled with Alex for a time.

To restart the lighthouses, correct? The Sun Sagas took care to mention that.

[...except whoever wrote the Sun Sagas would probably piss Piers off with their portrayal of Felix.]

Yes. I joined them soon after the Venus Lighthouse was lit. At that point Alex had all but abandoned Felix, which was likely his original plan since he could not be with us when we finished lighting them all to accomplish his own goal.

[And yes, Piers would be upset at the very biased telling. He'd be fine with his own lack of mention, but Felix doesn't deserve being villainized and being put on the level of traitors like Alex when he's more of a victim than a villain. Though he will be making a note of that name and going to read them if they are in the library.]
