☆ TCG BASICS
A TCG--otherwise known as a trading card game--is where you gather cards in a various number of ways such as through playing games or trading with other members.
Games in a TCG are the main way that you get your cards. Most games rely on your knowledge about various series from anime, manga, and video games. It's good to be well-read! If you don't know too many series, though, don't worry -- we also have games that don't rely on trivia, but instead focus on luck or have you provide an answer!
You can also trade cards by visiting other players' posts and going through their trade pile. If you find something you like, and have something they'd like, you can comment on their post asking to trade.
☆ COOL TCG
Here at Cool TCG, you've entered into a whole new town. Here in Studville, your popularity isn't based on your looks or your personality. Heck no! Here, it's all about the cards! The more cards you have, the more popular you'll be and the higher you'll make it on the social ladder!
So play games, make trades, collect cards. The more you do, the more you'll be making your way to that "Cool Kid" status and the more places you'll be able to visit. By working jobs and earning money, you can buy more cards and climb higher to fame.
☆ SEASONAL DECK UPDATES
Because of time constraints with the mods, deck updates will be seasonal--every three months. It may seem like a long time, but three months go by like a breeze! And this also gives the mods a whole good chunk of time to work on as many decks as possible! So rather than getting about a few or so new decks every month, you can get a full deck update with over 200 decks every three months! Of course, that amount isn't guaranteed but we'll do our best to give you the best enjoyment in updates as possible.
Also note that deck updates may not necessarily happen precisely at the beginning of the month. Update months are: March, June, September, and December.
☆ LEVEL UPS
You've all played RPGs, right? This is basically the same thing: the more cards you get, the higher your level grows. Every time you get 100 more cards, you can go to the Level Up Post and officially gain a level. It's not just for bragging rights -- you'll be rewarded every time you level up, too!
In Cool TCG, you'll also be rewarded Downtown Pass privledges. The more levels you gain, the more places you'll be able to go in the Downtown District, where players can work all sorts of jobs to acquire cards and coolios, the currency used in Cool TCG.
☆ CARD MASTERIES
The goal of TCGs is to master decks of choice. There are 15 cards in the deck. Through trading and purchasing, you can eventually collect all 15 cards from a deck. Once you achieve, head to the Card Masteries post and announce it. You'll receive some cards of choice as well as some random cards as well.
However, in this game, you'll also receive Skill Points, based on the skill of each deck, which will later allow you to work different jobs.
☆ DOWNTOWN DISTRICT
The Downtown District features all sorts of jobs and multiple places of interest.
The Card Dumpster is a place where cards that previously belonged to older members go. Every week, members will be allowed to snag a certain number of cards to add to their own collection.
The Vending Machince is where members can use the money they've earned from jobs and games to buy random cards or cards of choice. There are also limited offers which change weekly/bi-weekly, giving discounts on certain types of decks.
The Carnival is a place where certain special events will take place offering members all sorts of prizes. At this moment, construction on the Carnival is still in progress, so there won't be any events for a while.
The rest of the places in the Downtown District are places of employment, such as the Bakery, Newspaper Stand, Library, and other numerous locations. Visiting certain locations require you to be of a certain level.
Each location offers different jobs that will give payments of either cards or money. As long as you're of the correct level, anyone can work a Skill-less job which offers random cards as payment. However, if you can achieve a certain number of skill points that pertain to the location, you will be allowed to work the Promoted job which will give money as payment, which in turn can be used later at the vending machine.
Still confused? For example: you are required to be at least a level 2 member to visit the Bakery. Being a level two will allow you to work the skill-less job there--selling pastries. This will give you a payment of one card a week. However! By mastering decks that reward cooking points, once you achieve 4 cooking points, you can work the promoted job which will give you money based on your level.
The only exception is the charm skill points, which doesn't have a designated job. Instead, each player's total charm points will be added up to be ranked in the weekly Popularity Chart game in which the top five or ten members with the most charm points receive prizes.
☆ MEMBER ID'S
Hey hey, you're a member of this town now! Don't just wander off without having some sort of identification! By visiting the Member ID shop and submitting an image of choice, you can receive your very own member id! And guess what? You have an unlimited number of copies that you can trade off with anybody! Now doesn't that sound cool? Well, it gets cooler. Member ids go towards your card count!
Even though you have an unlimited amount of copies, your own id only counts as one card. However, when you trade a copy of your card with another player, their id card goes into your stock and counts towards your total card count. Isn't that cool?!
Still, life isn't perfect, so of course, there's a catch. You can only trade member ids with other members while making a regular trade. So don't go running off just trading your id with everyone. Make a legitimate trade with them and then you can also trade off your id.
☆ SOME QUICK RULES & REGULATIONS
First off, please try to keep active. You don't have to update every single day but every couple of weeks or so, be sure to check in and make a small trade or play a game. Active members are what keep TCGs alive.
Also, keep your logs updated! Make sure to write down all of your trades and rewards in logs so we know that you received your cards from some place and didn't just slip it in there.
Do not refresh the randomizer! That's why it's a randomizer. What you see on there is what you should be getting. Another note is that the randomizers have a hit limit of 1500 per day. That means if everyone were to constantly be refreshing the randomizers, eventually they'd just break completely for a full 24 hours before they're usable again. We'd like to avoid this, so stick with whatever you get on the first shot.
Please do not cheat. If you don't know an answer to a game, don't ask your friends. Try to remain honest in either not answering a game you don't know or making your own best guesses. There will be plenty of chances to get cards, so not getting awards for one game here and there won't mess you up.
Be kind and respectful to your moderators and fellow members. We're all in this for fun. No one is forced to do this, so let's enjoy it to the best of our ability. If you find that a moderator or another member if being disrespectful and rude towards you, please PM either me or one of the other moderators about it so we can calmly get the situation resolved.
Going along with the above, I've seen in previous TCGs a problem of members pestering moderators to hand out rewards faster. I really hope that doesn't happen here. Sometimes there may be moderators who pass out rewards as soon as the other games are done. Other times there will be moderators who take a week to pass out rewards. Everyone has lives and they won't be able to do things quickly. So please don't make comments on games asking for quicker updates. We'll be doing the best we can. But sometimes we may forget, so if a game has not received awards two weeks after it has ended, then you may politely write a comment reminding the moderator in charge and they should get to it as soon as possible.

Why is this place called "Cool TCG"? ➡ "Cool" happens to be our TCG's theme. On the surface, it may seem like our message is that being popular and on top is the way to be (well, it kind of is here but you know), but really, it's about receiving more enjoyment through doing and exploring by doing all sorts of games and jobs and being open-minded and adventurous through the collecting of a variety of cards. :)
I was a member of BroTCG. Can I join CoolTCG with the cards I collected and mastered there? ➡ Unfortunately not. CoolTCG may have taken the cards and some games from Bro, but it's a different TCG altogether. We've made so many changes and additions that it just wouldn't make sense to start in the middle of something completely new.
How often are deck updates? ➡ About every three months--March, June, September, December.
I joined a little over a month after a card update. Can I still get cards from the previous update? ➡ No. New card claims end exactly a month after they occur.
Can I suggest a deck to be added? ➡ Yes, but not just yet. We want to get things set up and flowing smoothly before we add on that option.
Can we have other types of special decks? ➡ It's possible! The mods are brainstorming all sorts of ideas that we'll be adding over time. The way you see the TCG now is not its definite final state. We already have plenty of plans for decks in the future.
Can I become a moderator/deckmaker? ➡ At the moment, we're doing pretty okay with the number of moderators we have. If we ever need more, we'll make a post asking for applications.
Why are the coins called "Coolios"??? ➡ Because Ari said so.
Everything not looking kosher? That's alright, just let us know! Fill out the error report below and we'll try to fix the problem as soon as possible! Thank you!
