Mmmmm... Beer

Last night, thanks solely to the planning of my lovely wife library_sexy, the two of us went over to The Publik House in brookline for a fantastic Sam Adams dinner hosted by Jim Koch. Sounds like a fun evening.

I have a friend who gets cocoa nibs; I can find out where he gets them (though it sounds like you wouldn't mind getting them from Jim :-).

I certainly wouldn't. He recommended a web site that the brewery had actually worked with to get nibs straight from various farms. I believe library_sexy managed to get that written down. I know that Im going to use this technique on a batch of mead ASAP.... I really want to compare the taste of the nibs to the pure dutch process coco that we used on the last batch.

The recipe we are using now has been passed around in the SCA for a while now... I wouldn't mind coming up with something a little different, especially if it didn't take as long to mellow out... our current batch has been down for a very very long time.

Thank you for reminding me yes I was able to use the power of Google to decrypt the note I wrote: Scharffenberger Nibs.

magid Jim also said that if there were extra nibs to put them in cookies like nuts and that it makes a fantastic addition.

Yum. They're also good dipped in chocolate, or crushed a bit and used as a topping for truffles.
