On the down side, the soda machine's carbonation unit was busted while we were there so I was forced to drink iced tea. Sobriety really limits one's beverage

You didn't miss anything. I just stopped drinking a few months ago. I didn't feel a need to make a big announcement about it or got to meetings and collect chips or anything. I didn't make a big deal about it when I drank to much for that matter. And if/when I start again, I won't make a big deal about that either.
