sewing question

How hard is it to sew with t-shirt fabric (jersey?) My last project used a very pretty, yet extremely slippery knit fabric, and it was so hard. I nearly had a fit.

stretchy fabrics tend to suck, in my opinion :( need special machines like fancy sergers for the inner seams .. not sure for the regular binding stiches, except zig-zag, but that often looks hacked together.

Yeah, and the edges tend to roll into themselves while you're sewing them. Give me good old flat woven fabric any day.

working on the bias (the diagonal turn of regular woven fabric) is also a challenge, but has less of the nasty rolling fabric edges result.

I've yet to try the bias tape trick, though I do soooo love how bias cut dresses and shirts hang!

There is definitely a technique to it, but it isn't impossible. You need a machine that can do a stretch stitch, and you need to be prepared to fuss a bit to keep the seams from getting bubbly, but it is do-able.
