One of my eggplants bloomed for the first time today!
The flower is a light purple with a yellow center, each petal about an inch long and they form a little downward facing cup.

I've been reading a lot lately:

Neverwhere, Neil Gaimon- My first novel by this author. I've been wanting to pick him up for a while and wasn't disappointed. Really a fun ( Read more... )

I haven't read Neverwhere, but Gaiman has written some great stuff. I recommend you seek out Coraline, American Gods, and Good Omens (written with Terry Pratchett). The last is my favorite, since Pratchett is awesome and reminds me so much of Douglas Adams. There's a number of comics that Gaiman has done, but I'm actually not familiar with it (Sandman is probably his most famous work).
I have to read Ender's Game at some point. It's not a question of if, just when.

Cheers!

I've read one of Gaiman's graphic novels (not Sandman, yet) and loved it which is why I'd been wanting to try one of his novels. I got Neverworld and Good Omens at the same time, I think, so maybe I'll start Good Omens next. I enjoyed this book so much, I think I'll give it to my dad.

I agree that Terry Pratchet is pretty fun, though he didn't really remind me of Douglas Adams. I may need to read Hitchhiker's again. Definitely one of my favorite books.

I was handed Ender's Game after reading Gaiman and was ready to pick something else up straight away. Pinray didn't actually tell me anything about it, but he'd been lauding it for a while. I read it rather quickly, it was so interesting and well written. I think you'll like it. I'll send you a copy if you tell me where it should go.
