I loved Deacon's thoughts about Sam and Dean, and the way that Deacon helped Dean to break free of his silence. It makes you wonder if maybe it was part of why Dean was so insistent that they help Deacon, beyond the fact that he had saved John's life. In a way, here, he saved Dean's too. :)

And it's so Dean to think that it was his job to protect Deacon too, even though Deacon is the adult.

Oh my heart! This is adorable. Had Fifth Element flashbacks at the "Boom. Big boom" and that amused me.

Little Dean as a caretaker is so precious. Now that you mention Fifth Element, it does seem familiar. The lady with the pink hair had limited vocabulary and it sounds like something she'd say.

I wonder what age he was before John gave him matches or a lighter since Sam was so young when he got a gun for the monster in his closet.

My favorite picture of Dean is the one where he's throwing a lit match into a grave. That's the pyromaniac in him shining through.
