Sakura laughed in an extremely unnerving way that did nothing to help the atmosphere; the sound was high-pitched, strained and nervous, not to mention ear-piercing and shudder-inducing. Sasuke glanced at her when she forced the sound out and noticed that she hadn't even bothered trying to dislodge Naruto, who had attached himself to her, arms locked around her waist and head pressed against her shoulder - although his wide eyes were still glued to the screen in horror.

"I-it's not real, right?" she said shrilly, trying to smile. Somehow, it didn't serve as a comfort to any of them. "This is all just fictional. Things like this don't exist, so there's nothing to be scared of! Th-... That's right. It's silly to be frightened. Only a child like Naruto would be scared of this. I'm fi-" There was a bang and she screamed at the top of her lungs, her entire body jerking in surprise.

It said something about how distracted Naruto was that he didn't even notice that she was clinging to him like a lifeline.

Sasuke rolled his eyes at them, shifting a little further away, his side pressed into the armrest. He suppressed a shudder and forced his eyes to move back onto the screen, repeating what Sakura had said to himself in his head. It's not real. It's not real. It's stupid to be scared by this. This is some idiot's stupid story, it never happened and it never will. These things don't exist and there are better things to worry about, only kids are scared by these stupid movies and there's nothing to be scared of so stop shaking! He grabbed one of his knees, trying to pin down his trembling leg.

Thankfully, Sakura and Naruto were too enthralled by the movie to have noticed his slip in composure, so he quickly recovered his image by scoffing at them.

"You two are complete idiots," he said, ensuring that there was no tremor in his voice before he spoke again, "getting scared by this like a couple of kids. Sakura, you just said it, right? There's nothing to be scared about. It's a movie, morons, stop screaming about it like scared babies." He slanted his gaze away, partly to reinforce the tough guy front he was putting up - but also to stop looking at the screen, because one of the main characters was creeping around in the dark and he couldn't afford to jump at something in the movie after a speech like that.

The other two stared at him for a long moment, and then Sakura sat up and shoved Naruto away from her. "Y-you're absolutely right, Sasuke-kun! You're so cool, I bet you're not even scared at all... I-I mean, I'm not that scared either! But you... you aren't even shaken. So cool..."

Naruto grumbled and shot Sasuke a glare over Sakura's shoulder. "I'm not scared either, jerk. I was just... I was just setting the mood! Y-you know, to make it scarier for Sakura-chan. Of course there's nothing to be scared of, only a stupid guy like you would think that!" He laughed, but when it died down, he glowered again. Sasuke decided to hear the brief ramble as, you bastard, Sakura was practically sitting in my lap and you screwed everything up, because that was probably what Naruto actually meant.

"That was a nice speech, Sasuke," said a voice beside his ear, and to Sasuke's credit, he didn't jump and shriek like the other two, even if he tensed so much that his shoulders almost locked into place on either side of his head, "but isn't it a bit hypocritical when you're the only one here shaking like a leaf?"

All three of them shot venomous glares at Kakashi, smiling at them from where he stood behind Sasuke, and they all shrieked, "When the hell did you get there?!"

"Ah." He shrugged and shifted his attention back to the book in his hand. "I've actually been standing there for a while. You have to be more attentive than that, you know, if you don't want to end up like... well, that." Without looking up, he gestured to the screen, where a screaming woman was being torn apart by some kind of extremely disturbing, monstrous, grotesque creatures. Quite graphically, too.

His students shuddered in unison, and Sasuke saw the mask covering Kakashi's face move a little - he had smiled.

"For someone who says he's not scared at all, you look a lot like a frightened rabbit, Sasuke," observed Kakashi offhandedly, and Sasuke hissed lowly. His teacher just raised an eyebrow at him. "No witty retorts?"

Sasuke opened his mouth to snap something back, but a piercing sound from the speakers made him whip around in horror, pushing as far back into the cushions as was humanly possible; Naruto and Sakura were blissfully distracted, and Kakashi chuckled quietly, pulling up a chair beside the couch to keep an eye on his team while he read.
