I'm sorry you're feeling blue right now. I'm sure that once you adjust, things will get better. In the meantime, lots of Belgian beer and chocolate to soothe the misery?

When Jake got into the foreign service, all the other spouses were like (*stars in eyes*) "I am so glad to be sharing in this adventure" and then when they got to post seemed to be able to have an adventure with kids in tow. But, me? Totally bored! Add to that, no job when we hit the ground, no stuff, nothing to do. My 'adventures' were going to the grocery store and being the housefrauw. Ick. With you there.

But, once you get settled, things will be better. Head out with LG in tow and explore your hood, do museam things, and touristy things. That way, by the end of the tour, you can be all "I'm in Belgium, bitches!"

I challenge you to a Frite-off!

I'm sorry to hear about the rough start. Have you secured housing yet? And is there an ex-pat community that could help with securing school for LC? Did Lenny have any Fulbright alum advice?

how bizarre that Matthew's job wants him on those exact hours, especially since him starting earlier might give you more breathing room at the end of the day.

Try not to force yourselves into getting everything perfect and doing all the things right away. This will be good for LG in the end.

We are sending much love and support your way.
