I'm [thisclose] to breaking down in tears. Lost my best buddy almost a year ago and it's still hard. Fats passed in almost the same manner, at the vet after we decided to put him down. Hardest thing I'd ever had to see but I couldn't leave his side. Aaaannnnd, there's the tears.

Sparkles was the fluffiest, curly coated sleepy cat EVER! How could you not want to nuzzle that tum? I'm so sorry for your loss but she's had a good life from the looks of it and you loved her well. That's all we can hope for. *hugs you*

Oh, tears! I'm sorry. Yeah, there was never an option for me as far as staying by her side, I couldn't have lived with myself if I didn't. I'm sorry for your loss, as well. I'm betting I'll still blub about it a year later, too.

Oh, and big, heartfelt congratulations on your quitting smoking. I've been even lurkier than usual lately and haven't given you due props for that. *raises roof for dampers*

From your pictures, Sparkles was a pretty, well-loved and affectionate little lady cat. Sad that she is gone. She will live on in your memory.

We had a black cat, Mahetibel, who came around one day and stayed 20 years. She found a place and we miss her still.

Thank you. It's funny how sometimes they'll find you, y'know? Hard to argue with the phrase "meant to be" in those cases!

She knew you loved her. I am totally not sniffling at all. Totally.

We really, really did. And miss her still and always. Thank you.

And, er, sorry about the sniffles?

Picture her romping merrily across the rainbow bridge to the Summerlands where there are always mice to chase in the warm sunlight.

She may have had a hard start in life but, from what you describe, she most certainly was one of the happiest of cats in her later years. You did good.
