Moving can be done a lot more cheaply if you don't have a lot of furniture and can just hire a van and get someone to give you a hand. I recently did it for about £150 plus the cost of taking my helpers out to a noodle bar, though admittedly that was a shorter distance. I rented a van from www.enterprise.com who are good because they do one-way rentals (i.e. you can get a van where you are and drop it off where you're going, you don't have to return it).

Office environments do vary. Most places you can get away with a skirt or trousers and a plain black top; you don't always have to wear a suit.
Best people to see is whoever you have been banking with a while - they atleast know of you and know you are a real person - even if you haven't borrowed much from them

Might be worth applying for a 0% credit card deal (HSBC are doing one), which would tide you over until the relocation expenses are paid back, and guarantee anything you have to pay for over £100 (as the credit card company is jointly liable)
However, *only* do this if you have the self-control not to go on a spending spree with it!
