Hello, my name is Caitlin and I am a Danger To Myself And Others

In light of lollardy's recent post to the effect that she is useless, I would just like to say: Verity, don't feel bad. I wish my biggest problem was a dough-encrusted paper towel dispenser. My late-night (okay - mid-evening. I have gotten old and crotchety since vac began) trip to the grocery store to buy my mother some condencend milk for her pumpkin ( Read more... )

At least you completed the act! I'd just like to say that this:

It's stressful, isn't it? At the study-abroad meetings last year, they warned us that we would feel like representatives of the US, and that that kind of pressure can wear on you. Weirdly, it's the same thing for Oxford students in general (or at least the sensitive ones - that's us: sensitive little flowers.)

What! Is that the one you were having the long chat with? Well, clearly you brought her around in the end, but who actually says that? I mean, she's essentially saying, "Aren't you supposed to be smart?" which is really not nice.
And what's wrong with walking behind her truck? Surely better than walking in front of it?

Ah, but is it not more moronic to lose a (relatively large) rolling pin in your own (relatively small) kitchen than to lose a (relatively small) tin of condensed milk in a (relatively large) supermarket? But then this isn't a competition! We can both be stupid! Hooray!

True, true. Life is hard. And should involve maps to find the things people seem to enjoy keeping hidden from us.
