Extermination 008 // Accidental Video // Forward-dated to July 8th
[When the PCD flicks on--an accidental recording, as soon becomes apparent--the screen is partially obstructed by a swath of black cloth, recognizable to very few as Sango's demon slaying suit. The rest of the scene shows the hot springs, the large pool of the women's side, and a quiet splash as two girls--Usagi and Sango--sink into the water, almost simultaneously.]
[Their backs face the camera. Sango's hair is swept over one shoulder, revealing her upper back, crossed with several light scars. Much more noticeable is the large x-shaped one situated between her shoulder blades, something that was undeniably a serious wound. In contrast, Usagi's bright blonde hair is braided and looped up to keep it out of the water.]
[Sango sighs, relaxing into the water.] That Tanabata festival was something, wasn't it?
[Usagi sank a little deeper into the water, letting it soothe tense muscles before she answered, eyes half closed.]
Mm. I was glad everyone had the chance to celebrate. Rei-chan did a lot of work, huh? Did you have fun? Did you make a wish?
She did a great job. I've never been to one before. [She rolls her shoulders, stretching the tense muscles.] And yes, I did get to make a wish.
[Usagi opened her eyes, but whatever else she was about to say was completely lost as she sat bolt upright, barely obscured by the water anymore.]
Eh?! Did you get hurt?!
[Wide eyes fix on the scar.]
[Careful, Usagi, or you'll end up flashing something to that handy PCD. Sango blinks in surprise, following Usagi's gaze, and then she sighs and settles, self consciously moving her hair to obscure her back.] It's from a while ago. Before I came here. It's fine.
But... [Usagi is not the best judge of how old a scar is, and any scar that big has a painful story behind it.]
Is it really alright? Does it hurt?
Will you be alright when you go back?
It's from long before I came here--I barely even notice it anymore. It-- [She twists again as if she's going to show Usagi something--only to notice the blinking recording light of the PCD and go pale.]
Damn!
What is it?
[Usagi turns her head to follow Sango's line of sight and-]
KYAHH! A cover, a cover!! Turn it off!
[There's a whole lot of splashing as Usagi tries to block the video's vision.]
[Sango sputters.] I will as soon as you stop that! [She's completely red-faced and, blinded by the splashing, reaches for a towel by the side of the spring. She flings it towards the PCD, and the only thing that can be seen is blackness.]
These stupid things--!
