My wishlist

My wishlist - well, it's my happy place, shallow wishlist I'm putting here. Not the other one - you know, where I wish that all Tea Party Republicans were sucked back through the space and time vortex to their alternate reality where the words coming out of their mouths made sense. Or where I wish that Tony Abbott, Cardinal Pell and Julie Bishop ( Read more... )

Hi everybody! I like JP very much. He is a gifted actor. But... I've listened to his song just now. lol! It's terrible. Really. One person can't be gifted in everything.

Ah, well. We all have different taste, don't we, and thank goodness for that! It would be dull if we always agreed. I'm someone who loves hearing passion in a singer's voice, as here, and I think he has terrific tone, too. As a Nick Cave fan, I hear a lot of similarities with that singer's work, but Jacob has his own style as well. I guess my own singing lends me to appreciate voices that haven't been auto-tuned to within an inch of their lives.

I agree with you regarding different taste. I agree with you regarding Jecob's voice. His voice is strong and lush, but he can't use it and carry it. If you are a fan of Nick Cave, your taste is not different of main. :-)
Have you listened to poscast about punk rock with Jacob Pitts?

Well, again, whether or not he can carry and use it remains a matter of opinion - I think he uses it very well. But then, I'm a folk singer, so I am used to non-mainstream voices and songs. A good singer, to me, is someone who sells me the emotion embodied in the song, and can do it in a way that has musicality and texture in their voice. For me, JP does.

Yes! I have heard, and love, that podcast. I love his knowledge and the lack of affectation he brings to the discussion, particularly in the way he encourages Tim to have his own opinion. Nice!
