Cooeee! Still here, still Suping, still pining for Tim.

Helloo!! I keep hearing Charlie Bradbury in my ears - I'm back, bitches! But as I don't actually ever say that in the wider world, I'll just content myself with saying- at last, a new computer. I've been without one since January. I have used my i-pad to keep up with things, but posting anything beyond a tiny piece of fic feedback or the occasional ( Read more... )

Corby!! I'm SO happy to see this post! I was afraid you were gone forever! I sent you a message on LJ because I'm disorganized enough to have lost your email addy and when I didn't hear back from you I fell weeping to the ground. Well, okay, maybe that's a SLIGHT exaggeration. :-) Anyhow, if you didn't get the message please let me know. My email is xuwriter at gmail.com in case you need it ( ... )

Yay! Hello to you, too. No, I don't have a message from you, fire away at me. My computer was absolutely fried, so I lost just about everything, and then my use of the i-pad has been haphazard, to say the least ( ... )

Hi! Wow, long time no see! Glad you could finally get back online to the degree that makes it possible for you to talk to us all. :)

And i'm glad you're finding a new interest in Show. No, it's never going to be season one again, but really - that would be kind of dull, to only have season one-type stuff over and over and over.

I like your words about the boys - insightful and a bit harsh, but *truthful*. And not without affection.

All good. :)

Nice to have you back!

G'day! Thanks for the wave - nice to see you too, though I'm often in the trenches with you on ONTD political.

Oh, yes, I'm glad they're not who they were at the start - that would be utterly frustrating. It's always that difficulty, isn't it, for show writers and fans alike; you fall in love for a particular reason and with a particular show, and if that core identity gets too diluted, you lose interest - but if it stays in amber, unchanging, it becomes dull and pointless.

Good to be back - and yes, my comments are always done with affection, and probably almost always wrong, so there you go!

Heee! Yes, indeed. But hey - makes life exciting. :)

Nah - there's no right and wrong when it comes to opinion and personal interpretation. I love Show, and the boys, and am always happy to see people on my flist who still enjoy the show. The negativity and hate some people have is a bummer, and i tend to avoid LJs that only ever talk about what they *don't* like.

Well, yes; if it gets to the point where you don't enjoy anything, walk away. It pissed me off hugely in the Due South fandom when fans of the first Ray hung around just to trash anything and everything about seasons 3 and 4. Just - no. It's such a huge waste of time and energy and sucks life out of your soul. You need to stop and think - hey, you know what? I'm investing all of this effort in trying to wreck other people's enjoyment. There's no way that's healthy, or admirable.

Mind you, I also campaigned in another fandom (very successfully) and I think that's a separate issue. Campaigning for change makes sense *if* there is some hope of it having an effect. (I think fans often over-estimate their impact). But, for example, campaigning to get Kripke back would be ridiculous. If you're not enjoying Supe at all now, I can't see any way that campaigning would change it. Just - walk on.

Hurrah, you're back. So good to see you.

I've kind of given up on SPN, I'm bored by the whole angels thing. The Vikings sounds good. I don't think it's on here. I'll have to check it out.

Thank you! I have kept up with you, reading your entries and I think I commented a couple of times. Greater love hath - using that awful i-pad keypad drove me nuts! Sorry to hear of the publishing woes - any word on that front?

Oh, yes, if you don't care for the angel shenanigans there's not a lot else to get into. I completely understand that, and was with you until the marathon watching run this week. I'm invested enough now to see this season through.

Vikings is fun. Some very, very strong women, buff blokes, lots of butchery. It's got a great soundtrack (cod-Celtic); I've ordered it, because I'm always on the lookout for good writing music.

Well, there was Dean in the shower and those few seconds made me *very* happy.

:-)

Buff blokes and strong women - I need to find Vikings!

Glad you are back! I loved your thoughts on SPN. I think you were totally on target. (I don't watch they other shows, so you might be dead on there too!) :)

Well, thank you! As for being dead on - I think there are so many ways of approaching this show, I would never claim to be right. All I can offer is my particular, subjective-but-trying-to-be-objective view. I'm glad that works for you! *g*
