SPN thoughts....

I kind of liked 9.15? I mean, it was terribly on-the-nose, but I found parts of genuinely creepy, and I always like it when we get the occasional episode where they just have to deal with people being fucked-up, rather than monsters. And I liked the way the Ghostfacers were handled - they weren't just comic relief, the narrative treated them as ( Read more... )

It would be wonderful to see Zachariah or Uriel be resurrected to just put all the angels back in line. Forcefully. I couldn't care less about the battle for heaven the way it's being "fought" here. I'm very interested int the Mark of Cain, but it seems to be on the back burner for some unfathomable reason. Also Crowley and Abbadon could be livening things up considerably but they too are among the missing. Leviathans would be welcome right about now, I agree. And they've moved forward a glacial bit on the Dean getting things through his head front and the Sam maybe, maybe thinking about forgiveness front. We'll see, I guess.

I think we'll get back to the Mark of Cain soon. I hope, anyway! I feel like there are parallels to S4 here, only with Dean being the one to make shady deals with demons to get power to take out bigger ones. Hopefully this will tie into some resolution of the Sam & Dean angst.

Uriel would have NO TIME for these loser angels, man,

Very on the nose. But all the better for it, actually. What I thought was going to be a light, throwaway episode actually ended up pointing Sam and Dean in the right direction - with the subtlety of a falling grand piano, maybe, but still, the rocking chair bit and the batman-superman memory were worth the price of admission this week.

And I'm with you, Zacharia, Uriel, Castiel, all agonising over the issue of consent and being ruthless charismatic bastards while doing so, were wonderful next this bunch of vapid, bickering douches.

The childhood memory was really sweet, actually. And the image of the rocking-chairs - that's what we've always wanted for them, isn't it? ;_;

I suppose partly it's just that they used to cast much more charismatic actors for the angels - Metatron is, like, the least charismatic person in showbiz. And so many of the rest are played by very forgettable, blandly attractive people with no distinguishing features. At least if Gadreel comes back we'll get more Tahmoh.

Heh. I am with you on the focus of the show at the moment (well for me it's always been the boys, but there have been other plot lines I was interested if not invested in in the past and now - they've just let any potential juiciness outside of the boys slide away). I miss Zachariah!

My icon is totally checking yours out :)

I just miss when I was really excited to see what was going to happen next, you know? I mean, I get that from other shows, but I just don't from SPN anymore, and it makes me sad.

I'm certainly less excited than I used to be but this season is getting me all roiled up again so...

River is welcome to check out Jared's bum. She can see the whole picture on my journal if she's so inclined.

I don't think it matters at the point what either realizes because I'm 100% positive that we are getting a dark Dean arc (ala Sam and the demon blood). So I expect them to get farther apart and it'll probably extend into next season. That's just my gut instinct, so I'm finding it hard to even speculate when/how the brothers will make up.

Agree about the angels, and frankly I think the only reason they still have angels on the show is to keep Cas around. They outlived their expiration date seasons ago.

Mmm, good point. So many S4 parallels.

Which means that Dean/Crowley will be canon before the end of the season, right? I mean, he is playing the Ruby to Dean's Sam in this version, so it's bound to happen. :D
