Random things!
1) Am still alive, despite appearances to the contrary.
2) I think I might have stopped watching Supernatural. It wasn't a conscious decision or anything. But we got really, really busy with real-life stuff, and also ALL THE SHOWS are aring right now. And we have this PVR full of things, and when we get a spare hour to sit down and

2)I think it's better to recognize a disinterest and stop watching a show then it is to continue to watch out of some sort of twisted loyalty and not find enjoyment in it anymore. I'm still enjoying Supernatural enough to keep watching, but there are a lot of shows that I've started watching, really enjoyed for a time, but then have lost complete interest in and stopped watching. So, yeah, completely understand.
3C) Oh my god, so... I haven't actually seen ANY of the Captain America movies - but a couple of people on my tumblr dashboard are huge fans, so I've seen a lot of gifs and... and... I'm completely devouring all this post CA:WS fic, because it is EXACTLY the kind of fic that I love. So, yes, I am a huge fan of the fandom, I guess?! I haven't even seen the canon, but I love all the fanon of Bucky and Steve and Sam and Natasha...and it's all awesome.

And do watch the CA movies! They are really quite fun, and a lot better than I was expecting going in. Particularly the second, actually.

Orphan Black is the best. And I wasn't expecting to have so many feelings about Marvel, but here they are.

Love Orphan Black, but that's no surprise. What has been a surprise is how much I ended up liking Agents of SHIELD! I just caught up (had wandered off after only 2-3 eps initially) and I actually had a Captain America dream last night. I wonder if maybe having the TV show gives me an in to the fannish experience-I've never before managed to be fannish about super heroes or movies, but somehow having (more or less) regular people and a TV-show format has gotten me thinking in that direction, too.
Then there's Grimm, which I don't feel fannish about at all (in terms of wanting more than the show), but which prompts me to say, out loud, some variation of "I freaking love this show so much!" at least twice every time I watch it.
It's been interesting watching the Ward/Sky(e?) dynamics on AoS and comparing them to the Sarah/Paul dynamics on Orphan Black. I have a weird love for Sarah/Paul, but no such similar feeling for Ward/Skye. Yet. :D

Good point about Agents of SHIELD - having the regular weekly show as well as the movies does help to bring it more into the kind of fannish experience we're used to. I actually started to go on about this in my post, but it was getting too long. But I may do a 'how I became a fan' post for the MCU :) It seems like it took AoS a long time to get good, but it really got there.
(sad about Almost Human, yeah? I'm not surprised it got cancelled, though a little disappointed. It had such potential, but it just never quite lived up to it.)
Ward/Skye and Sarah/Paul: interesting. I hadn't thought of it, but they do have some similarities. I think Sarah/Paul has more of a possible future, though - I'm betting Ward won't make it past the end of the season. And I can't see Skye ever getting together with him now, even if he lives.
I think I like Sarah/Paul because she's so clearly the one calling the shots there. She's such a boss :D

Defiinitely! I think it hits my id more in that way. Also, Skye is really shaping up to be a Joss Girl (Hi, Faith, River, Echo, etc.) which is a little Mary Sue for me, whereas Sarah is messy. I like Skye mostly because of the actress. (Ditto River; never had much use for Eliza Dushku, so the other two didn't click for me.)
Ward is more interesting to me now that he's conflicted, but I do kind of see a heroic sacrifice in his future, now that you mention it.
Feel free to nick/share the Sarah icon. :D

That is one of the things reasons I love Sarah, and her sisters - they are such messy, complicated, real people! Sarah is brave and fierce and smart, but she's also an (ex) con-artist with questionable taste in men. And capable of being both ruthless and selfish when it comes to her survival and that of her daughter.
Skye felt *very* Mary-Sueish to me for a long time (and I think the showrunners are aware of that!), though she's been working for me in the last couple of episodes. Chloe Bennett is definitely bringing a lot of appeal, though I think she'd work better if they hadn't styled her to be so glossy. It just leads to unhelpful thoughts like "How did she manage to flat-iron her hair in the back of a van?"

(2) If you're on the brink of falling out of love, I suggest skipping ep 20 for a while (the one right after the one you last watched) -- it's the pilot for the spinoff, with the look, sound, and feel I'm guessing the spinoff will have, 'cause it sure didn't look, sound or feel like spn; plot advancement for spn was minimal. The latest ep, #21, had me cheering out loud, which I hardly ever do for anything.
Hugs!

I'd read you if you wanted to write Avengers or whatever. :D

I have this idea for a Winter Soldier/SPN fusion, which I've been plotting out, but who knows if I'll ever actually write it. Somewhat inspired by this fabulous art: http://petite-madame.tumblr.com/post/82927358480/jared-padalecki-as-the-winter-soldier-and-jensen, of course :D
