Happy Canada Day, flist!

Because for the first time in years, I actually have the day off! I work in a public area where there are big Canada Day celebrations, and I almost always end up either working at my job or volunteering somewhere all day. But this year, I'm free! Think I'll take a walk to the beach later, and maybe see if I can't fire up the rusty barbecue on the ( Read more... )

Happy Canada Day to you, too! :)

LJ-land has been...quiet, heh. We have new Russian overlords, though, how exciting is that?
And thank you for the signal boost!

Nice to see you!

It's pretty horrifying, really. If you go to your profile page, up at the top right corner there's a blank spot between two icons/buttons. If you hover over that blank spot/click it, you should be able to see a 'go back to the old look' choice.

Nice of them to camouflage it, eh?

The NRO seem to actually be talking about changes before they implement them, which is a new thing, and they've revived lj_feedback, so..... Could be a change for the better.

Hi there, you. Happy Canada Day. I hope the time off is refreshing.

It's too hot here for my feeble constitution (I start wilting at around the high 80s F). I spent large parts of the day with my head propped on an ice pack, rereading Benjamin January.

That sounds lovely :) The hot weather has finally hit the West Coast, I'm enjoying it today but I think it may get old by the end of the week. It's been so damp and cool all year, the change is nice for now.

We bought a barbecue yesterday! It's red and shiny, and it folds up small enough to fit on our small back porch. We had to call a cab to get it home, the box was too big to take on the bus, and the cab driver was laughing at us. It was nice.

Which January book are you reading?
