That's a ridiculous statement, as it is. Perhaps if it had qualifiers, it might begin to make sense, but saying that things should always, no matter what, stay as they are is moronic. Change is a natural part of growth. It's a good thing, as a general rule. Granted, specific changes can be bad (Again, why don't we still make sure people are literate before letting them vote?) but change can be good.

I, for one, wholly support the changing of underwear.

Gradual change is fine. I think the statement just says that any drastic movement in a new direction is generally viewed as evil, wrong, and other bad words. And at the same time, people who stand up and resist these changes are held in high regard. At least, that's how I read it.

That's how I read it, too and it still sounds ridiculous at face value for the reasons I stated.

Also, change your underwear (into puppies)!
