Maybe I'm missing something but isn't 'ignorance of the law does not make you exempt from it' supposed to be taken literally? How exactly is it that people can get reduced or omitted sentences for having mental handicaps? How is an unawareness or inability to process right from wrong supposed to be any better than a flagrant disregard for authority
