One second I was with Angel, asleep and lost somewhere in dream land and in the next my eyes were wide open. Like a flash I was in a bed somewhere and Connor's lips were pressed to mine. Connor? Finally he pulled away and I looked up into his bruised and battered face for only a few minutes trying to shake away the remnants of the dream I'd just had. Shit. Was I Sleeping Beauty ( ... )

I'd managed to get through the castle without too much trouble. Sure there were a couple of guards who had to be knocked out, but it wasn't too bad. Once I found her, I kissed her, and then she opened those big brown eyes. I'd missed her.

"A while. I can't keep track of time here. We got separated and you ended up sleeping beauty and I ended up playing the role of Jack with the bean stalk. Fucking giant."

Looking around the castle, I wondered if it would be as easy to get out of here as it was to get in. Somehow I doubted it. And where the hell were we supposed to go next? Where was the key we needed? This was getting to be a pain in the ass. How long had we even been gone.

"How do you feel? You ready to fight your way out if we need too?" I hoped she was because I was starting to long for a nap. Maybe we could trade. I'd be sleeping beauty for awhile and she could jump ahead in the story.

So that was how his face ended up all bruised and beat up. He'd been fighting with a giant. Man! How come he got to fight the giant and I had to be the stupid princess? Definitely not fuckin' fair if you ask me but that was another part of the problem. Nothing was ever fair, right? How easily Harry's words could come back to haunt me ( ... )

"I don't think it's a good idea for us to rest in a castle where you were in a coma. We'll get back to the forest and then I'll crash while you take look out."

The tenderness of her touch surprised me, but I leaned into it anyway. I'd missed her while we were separated. It was bad enough I dragged her down to this hell dimension with me. The least I could do was keep better track of her from now on.

"I passed a cottage on my way here. maybe we can crash there for awhile." Because cottages in forests are always a good thing. Better than castles at least right?

I stood up and searched the room looking for some kind of weapons. Of course I found nothing because this was a princess's room, and since when do they trust a princess to fight? They picked the wrong princess then because Faith would take all their asses out if they tried to stop us from leaving.

I guessed he was probably right about the castle not being a great place for a nap but you gotta figure they already got what they wanted. Me in a coma for a wicked long time and the truth was, I wasn't really all that unhappy about it. Check it, suddenly? I wasn't drugged up the eyeballs with performance enhancers or going through some serious withdrawals ( ... )

"I'm not sure. Time moves strangely here. It's been awhile." I gave her a curious look, and took the key before following her out. The castle was so quiet that I kept expecting us to be stopped. Perhaps once she was rescued that meant this part of the story was over. What was next?

Of course I spoke too soon because just as we were about to reach the draw bridge to leave, two guards appeared with their swords. Trading a look with Faith, we both rushed them at the same time. It's not like two guards would slow us down for long.

Punching him a little too hard, he went flying back and slumped down as soon as he hit the wall. That was a little disappointing. Maybe Faith would get a better fight out of hers.

Checking him for weapons, I pocketed his dagger. This could definitely come in handy later. He had a bit of gold on him as well so I pocketed it too. You never knew when money or weapons would come in handy.

Awhile. I wasn't really sure how to interpret that. I guess I would find out when I got out of here and someone told me how long we'd been gone for. I hoped it wasn't nearly as long as it felt like on this side. My kids must be freaking out without me, not to mention my sister. Not that she had exactly been my number one fan before I left. Maybe I didn't wanna go back there ( ... )

It was an insult, but at least it allowed us to get out of here quickly. I was ready to go back to cabins. Castles creeped me out a bit in this place. As for how long we'd been here, I wasn't certain, but I knew I was in a lot of trouble once we made it back ( ... )
