I'm guessing gameplay is the meant to be the mechanics of exactly how you play the game. While there's many different ways you can play a game/ways that games are set up to be played, there's only so many ways you can read a book(i say only so many because someone out there is bound to say something along the lines of "no, i read blah blah blah way..........).

And you're thinking to hard.

im not talkin about the actual definiton but the term itself makes no sense

"this game has good gameplay but the graphics suck"

"this is a good game but i think the graphics suck"

they mean the exact same thing except one makes more sense

I'd say a good book, just because it's what I've been doing for so long.
But I mean it makes sense, if the content of the book is good, the content is part of the book, so it's a good book :V

I frequently use bookread in conversation.

Okay, this is going to sound totally weird, but a few weeks back someone linked me to a picture on your journal (at least I think it was here). And now I need that picture, and by need I mean I mentioned it to a friend thinking I'd saved it when I actually hadn't and now they want to see, nobody's life is on the line or anything, it's ok, you can breathe easy. But it was of some Japanese guy and a girl with a tube in her stomach going to a fish tank, did you post it here and have you still got it?

Also, I think gameplay is the interactive aspect of a game, the degree of success with which the game integrates the player's original input into a prebuilt game world. A book has no interactive aspect and thus no bookread. Unless it's one of those choose your own adventure books hmmmm.
