the fandom panel at yalsa blew my mind

This weekend I went to the YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Assoc.) Literature Symposium. It was, essentially, three days of hanging out with librarians and YA authors, talking about teens and books. One of the panels I attended was called "YA Literature and Fan-Created Work." BOOKS! That sounds like it was a great experience, and talking about YA books and fanfiction is always the BEST way to spend a day.

Have you read CINDER by Marissa Meyer? She started out writing Sailor Moon fanfiction!

Also...if you're interested....I can get you onto the mailing list for MacKids since you are so awesomely into everything that's awesome book and fandom-wise. Let me know which type of YA you like best and I'm happy to make sure a few copies get to you. We just got our spring 2013 galleys in!

I have not read Cinder yet but it was brought up in several panels last weekend so it's definitely on my (very long) to-read list.
