What are we teaching our kids?

So one of my fellow teachers was asked today to "give" a student 2 points on their semester grade from last semester so that the student can go on to play football at UT. I was conpletely dumbfounded at this request. The student, a lazy, cocky student who doesn't try in class, made a whopping 11 on his ACT test this year ( Read more... )

Unfortunately in our sports-driven society this type of this is "overlooked" more than anything else.

I would say that either way you are putting yourself at risk to lose your job. One, because it is illegal, and the other side because you aren't a "team" player.
