In debt until death

I've bought a house! Bugger me, how did that happen?

It was on fixed price and I went to see it on Thursday (my first night out looking at houses) and again on Sunday and offered, and was accepted, yesterday. I've spent longer thinking about buying a pair of shoes!

It's a one bedroom ex-local authority first floor flat. It's been completely redecorated by a very lovely gay man with great taste. And it's huge!

The living room is double aspect to the south and east - bay window to the south and a single window east. Plenty space for a dining table! The kitchen is brand new and comes with all the white goods (gas cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine) and has a south facing window. And an aluminium floor. The bedroom is north facing and has the most enormous built-in wardrobe you ever did see. The bathroom is also north facing and has a white suite with a bath and an electric shower over. And has pulley wheels on the ceiling - I'd just need to reattach the actual rails to have a drying rack.

Shiny happy things include a new boiler, new double glazing, gas central heating, brand new carpets (cream) and an alarm system. There's a Scotmid just up the road, a 24 hour Jet garage across the road and a bus stop, with handy buses to Princes Street and the supermarket, just across the road.

Oh, and there's a private garden!

I should get the keys on Friday 16th June.
