If you haven't written them already, as I recall your state university has an agricultural extension division. I'd expect them to be on top of the issue.

I figure even if I'm told this year is a bad idea, I'm still wanting to prep the garden. I've decided to move it slightly. Which of course means lots of dig-dig-dig and weed-weed-weed. Side note, I seem to have delicious hands, because my Bean keeps licking them. While I'm trying to type. Cats, eh?
Aaand, back on topic. *G* I'm still plotting what to plant in pots, JIC. I'd really love to experiment with some different varieties of, say, tomato--like Cherokee Purple. Mom, however, is rather o.O when it comes to "weird" colored things. I'm not sure she'd actually EAT purple tomatoes. *L*
