Hurricane Sandy is bearing down on us at last. It's not too bad here yet - lots of rain and wind, but it's only just getting to the point where I don't feel comfortable going out in it. This morning I ran out for a last minute emergency chocolate run to Trader Joe's. They said they'd be open until the power went out, and didn't seem terribly

It's been pouring here for three days now and the wind has now shifted from South West to North East, that'd be Sandy's influence I think. The trees are already taking a beating and the wet ground plus the shift in wind direction is only going to make it worse. The government is warning us to be prepared for 72 hours without power. *clings to internet* So I'm downloading fic, just in case, and charging up all the laptop batteries.

I really wish we got the National Theatre productions in the cinema here. It's hard to justify going all the way to Toronto to see something. I'm glad you enjoyed along with the unintentional hilarity.

Wow, your area must be very soggy indeed! At least we had the good fortune of nice weather up until last night. My power is flickering like crazy now, so I'm clinging to the internet, too.

I'm so grateful that we get the National Theatre productions here. Even having to go into DC during a rain storm is worth getting to see their shows. I hope they start showing them closer to home for you!
