Today is one of those days when I feel like I'm disappearing...like just another few days and I'll be like Patrick Swayze in Ghost, where only a few people can see me, and I can't do anything on my own to make an impact of any sort

Thanks! God, it's so sad that I need to hear that from someone to believe it. ...I've been off antidepressants for about 2 years, even made it through my brother's death without the pills. It'll be so fucking lame if I have to get back on the meds just because I have this totally irrational lonely/isolated/worthless-to-the-world feeling.

Meh, "irrational" or not, depression is a very real feeling. Maybe you just went into survival mode and that's what helped you when your brother died. You don't get as much time to think about being depressed when something happens to make your life a little chaotic. I know MY worst times for depression are usually when there isn't anything going on and I have time to think. That's my experience anyway.
