The first step is admitting you have a problem

I just found myself saying "But -- human neurological development doesn't work like that!"

To the TV.

To a Stargate SG-1 repeat.

Are there detox programs for nerds?

tv, geeky

It's so pathetic, really. I'm glad it's amusing, at least!

If it hadn't been a repeat, would you have felt better about it?

Ahahaha!

If it had been better television, perhaps. I feel good about analyzing the end of The Sopranos. And I had no shame walking into a meeting this morning, looking at the person who sent out the group e-mail about whether sequels were ever better, and said, "Wrath of Khan. Why are we even having this discusion?" Though I did have to admit I was a big nerd at that point, it was a nerdishness that felt good, felt positive. Until the big comedown at the end of the day. Oh, the humanity.

My geekery has led to nerdishness. Based on my enthusiasm for SGA, I signed up for the Silicon Valley Astronomy Series. Somehow, I don't think that much of what I've learned from Stargate Atlantis (and its associated fanfiction) will serve me in the lectures.

There is also the issue of how I know, for example, YOU, in real life, although I am generally pretty out and proud about my Buffy enjoyment.

Honey, everyone I know now, I know from the Internet. Even the people I knew before the Internet!

Go to the lectures -- it'll be fun. Report back!
