The things that I do not want to change. And those that I do.

I've said this many times - and I'll keep on saying it - nothing puts how weird my work hours are into perspective as much as a Sunday, when it feels like the day has already been going on for so long already, and then I look at the clock, and it's only five p.m. Which, on a typical work day, would only be half of my, uh, work day ( Read more... )

It feels almost a little sacrilegious to be watching a Gundam show that's so friendly to viewers who don't know anything about Gunday/don't particularly care about UC Gundam. But, hey, no complaints so far!

I love that they've got realistic (ish) depictions of child soldiers and they management/upper echelons basically think they're disposable. (Compared to the usual Gundam depictions anyway!) I love that they're teenaged boys who fuck up and are a little naive but they try dammit, and their fuck-ups have consequences. I love that they're trying to work in class issues with the protesters and slums.

I really love that Tekkadan is a found/created family. The co-dependent relationship between Mika and Orga can't end well; I predict one of them will die (probably Orga :/ )

In short: AUGH G-TEKKETSU

(ps we've just covered verbal aspect in Russian class, and I don't find it /confusing/ per se, just needlessly complicated. And I can say два дня назад шёл снег. Though I'm not sure about the accuracy of дня.)

Два дня назад is correct.

...sometimes, I really do feel bad that the last time I studied actual Russian grammar was in 5th grade...in Russia; all the Russian classes I took in undergrad were lit, not language. I mean, I speak/write correctly, but yeah, trying to *explain* why something should be one way and not another - is something else entirely!
