Depending on what kind of psych research you are looking to do, there might be some stuff for you here at MGH (and you might be surprised at the range). Shoot me an email if you are interested (or want to chat -- I have been through this part of the deal before =P).

Really? Any help would be SERIOUSLY appreciated. I know the first thing I have to do is get a resume together (yes, I'm graduating from college and don't yet have a resume, I know I'm pathetic). I am definitely looking to stay in the area, and I'll take just about anything -- I don't really know yet what area I want to go into. I've been working in a DV/sexual assault shelter/advocacy thing this past year, and I think I want to be a therapist eventually, but for now I'm pretty much looking for anything that'll help me get into grad school in a year or two. Do you have any idea what's available there, and do you have any connections to get me a job?? :) Honestly, I know I'm going to have to put more effort into the job search thing than I have so far (of course, since I've put basically no effort in yet), but I would really appreciate any advice or help.

Thank you!!

I will take a look around to see what is available, and get back to you (via your school email address). Also, you are welcome to join me for coffee/tea some night and pick my brain about the process and such.

You could go to Camp Starfish this summer (possibly with me) if you're really, really desperate, but they only pay a stipend (approximately a thousand dollars) for nine weeks' work, and you have to be willing and able to deal with children with behavioral disorders. It's excellent resume fodder, though, since you work in very close quarters with the kids.

Several things:

1.) I may be able to help you with your résumé today if I finish my philosophy of law paper early enough. I'm going to go work with Emily after I eat.

2.) Keep watching the psychology e-mails for good opportunities, and ask professors who share your interests if they know someone who needs your talents. Have you talked to Professor Sherman about this? Do you want me to ask my advisor if he knows of anything (though that probably won't help you)? Try talking to people in the department office-see if they have a list of jobs you could consider.

3.) I know how you feel about wanting things to end but not, even though I sleep and have a fairly specific idea of what I'm doing (but I still need to hear from AVODAH [today]).
