My dreamwidth reading page is buzzing with the extremely disturbing news that adverts such as this and this have recently been shown on livejournal.

They later said they would be pulling the ads - and in the process, admitted that they have no control over what adverts are shown on their site (see the first set of comments on that page).

I like the idea of being able to grant access to people without having to follow them, or being able to follow people without having to grant access.

Huh -- so now I *am* thinking of using DreamWidth, and would love a code.

Dya think they realised it was ironic to be making a (silent) banner advert that would be proliferated without discretion claiming they were being prevented from using free speech? Fire with fire, but um, point - fail.

Ooh, I just gave away my two codes to the people above. I can request new ones, though, at dw's discretion, so I'll do that. Will let you know if I get any!
