If the OTC Claritin doesn't work, think about asking your doctor for a prescription for Allegra, or Allegra-D (which has a decongestant in addition to the antihistamine). Claritin never works for me and the other prescription one (I think it begins with a Z?) puts me to sleep. It's the one they're always advertising on TV as being great for indoor (i.e. pet) allergies as well. They don't tell you it's great if you've always wanted to take up narcolepsy. Allegra's always worked the best though the decongestant in the D version sometimes gives me that buzzy-all-over feeling.
DRINK MORE WATER! Although you should probably keep some Gatorade nearby for those crazy electrolytes.
