Hmmmmmmmmmm, where to start...I got the present from Liz. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait!!! It's a big candle holder, kind of like a small outside fireplace thingy. She also got me six smelly(good smelling)candles to burn in it. I burned one of the candles last night...Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm ( Read more... )

If He had told me in the womb how my life was going to be, I wouldn't have come out!!!

After this Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. And Job said:
"Let the day perish on which I was born,
and the night that said,
'A man is conceived'
"Why did I not die at birth,
come out from the womb and expire?"
(Job 3:1-3, 11)

And the Lord said to Job:
"Shall a fault finder contend with the Almighty?
He who argues with God, let him answer it."
(Job 40:1)

Then Job answered the Lord and said:
"I know that you can do all things,
and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted.
'Who is this that hides counsel without knowledge?'
Therefore I have uttered what I did not understand,
things too wonderful for me,
which I did not know.
...therefore I despise myself,
and repent in dust and ashes."
(Job 42:1-3, 6)

When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say,
"Blessed be the name of the Lord!"

Your subject line automatically made me think of that first passage. As I was reading Job a few weeks ago I kept coming back to chapter 3 a lot. It's amazing that things like that are in scripture. The other one that gets to me is:And he (Job) said, "Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord."
In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.
(Job 1:21-22)
Sunday night the sermon was on suffering and how it comes upon both Christians and non-christians alike. So as Job knew so we must also realize that Christ isn't a get out of trouble free card. Instead He is the foundation on which we must stand so that the troubles won't take us down when they do come.

So I'm hanging out on the Solid Rock. How 'bout you? :)
