I've asked on FB and I'll ask here...

any recommendations on hotels in Vegas? I'd rather go on recommendations than shutting my eyes and pick one off the internet.

Pat and I are going with another couple in June. I think we're far enough ahead to book.

I like Ceasar's, Bellagio's, Paris, Flamingo .. but ultimately the room really doesn't matter all that much because you're not in it all that much .. are you planning on going to shows, gambling, hanging out at the pool? because the best pool area on the strip is at Mandalay Bay if that's really your drawing card... it has a sandy beach and a wave pool and slides and and and!

I've never been farther west in the U.S. than Iowa, so I can't help you.

My daughter and son-in-law really liked the Mandalay Bay I believe.

Caesar's Palace is very nice and they're about the middle of the strip.

When I get home I can send More info (typing via iPhone now).

Do get upgraded no matter where you stay. It is easy, free and all it takes is a bit of talking to the staff. Comping food and rooms is a bit more technical these days but can still be done via smooth talking

Also are you staying on or off the strip? Price of hotels in downtown are cheaper and usually have shuttles to the strip. Plus nothing says fun like $0.50 craps tables.

We stayed at the Imperial Palace. Not high end but it was clean, fairly inexpensive and on the strip. It worked for us!
