The Borat Revolution

i would characterize the american dream as more people realizing they can make money by suing someone. i would be curious to see what the actual ramifications of this film to that village are and how it has impacted the totality of their lives. i am hard pressed to believe that they were well respected in the world's view until this film depicted them differently.

i dunno - seems a bit overly sensitive to me. it's not like the movie producers forced these people to do anything. they were who they always are.

Your right these people weren't well respected. Maybe that is what made them such an easy target. I don't particularly like some of the gypsy ways of making money when I was traveling Europe. If they could take advantage of you they would. But these people have been persecuted for centuries, including rounded up in death camps during the Nazi Regime. They are trying to survive with what they got like the rest of us. They were foolish to think someone was going to give them handouts, because they were suffering. They have the victim's attitude. My point is that they were used with out a reasonable compensation. I think if the Studio would have said this was a major motion picture then they would have expected more than 5$ or whatever it was. I doubt in the end it will prove to much of a scandal. I was just angry at the fact that it is easy to lie and cheat those in unfortunate and desperate circumstances. If they had given the village $100,000 American Dollars I wouldn't care at all if they sued, but a couple hundred? At what point ( ... )
