maybe we have got it all wrong as a society. maybe human beings can not handle this idea of "love". we become infatuated with someone, as hormones and phermones(big time sp) kick in and decide to start falling in love with them. once you are with a person long enough it seems so right to tell them you love them, only to watch it diminish and fade ( Read more... )

Heh, just throw an "O" in Pheromones, and you'd have it right.

I really do believe in love I'm utterly in love with love. I knew it was there from my parents, and the way they were. They had convinced me of it's reality long before I knew that I wanted it. The faith is strong with this one, also.

Maybe we were tricked, by ourselves as much as everyone around us. I think there's an evil to the idea of the Bigger Better Deal; sometimes there's just no one finer in the world than the person you're with. The infancy and youth of a relationship is fastened with the rivets of certainty that no one could be finer. The problem is once we return to reality, you have to face the thought that someone else might be more perfect for you. There needs to be no particular someone else, just as long as there's a chance ( ... )

Love is only what you make of it as a human. Perhaps it's some genetic throwback to our Caveman days of territorial conquest, perhaps just to ensure that our species procreates, perhaps... whatever. It really doesn't matter what it's meant to be, or really is. Love is what you feel it is, and what you make of it. Our emotions, in part, make us Human. Love is probably one of the greatest doors to the "Human Experience" just like Pain, Anger, Happiness, Fear, and the whole spectrum of Human emotions are.

I believe that a large portion of True Love lies within friendship. If it were nothing more than Pheromones and Hormones, could love between two men or women really exist? What about Platonic love? What of platonic love of creatures such as, for example, a Dog? You can't sleep with a Dog. Well, you can but that would be a whole different LiveJournal. Love is a very complicated, multifaceted, Mobius strip. In the end, I doubt it would accomplish much to really analyze it. It's a Feeling, much like Fire makes you say "ow" or "911", Love ( ... )

I beleive in love, though I haven't experienced it yet, I feel that it can be found somewhere out there. Theres only been one time I thought I might be...and to this day, I remain unsure.

Right now I'm with someone and she is great. Maybe I love her? Maybe I don't. We'll see what the future brings. For now I'll just live in the moment, enjoy it and have fun. Let the chips fall where they may.

there are many more things to love than even what you posted. i am not saying i have never felt it, but my main complaint was related to infatuation and how it ravages a relationship when it ends.
