Author: corrielle Title: Place Called Home Rating: G Word Count: 514 Summary: Allan ponders the meaning of home. Author's notes: Just some garden variety Allan angst... written for the final challenge over at hoodland.
The end was especially poignant, with Allan's realization that home isn't a place, but the people he's grown to love. I wonder if it's the call of home that makes him go back to Robin and the gang.
Why, oh, why, have I not seen this before? It's gorgeous! A simple and accurate understanding of what Allan was missing in his life and the lesson he had to learn. Sad and profound and perfect. I love how you make the distinction between Allan and the others at the beginning because they all have something that means home to them, but he does not. Then his realization by the end that they are home, he is one of them, and he belongs where they are. I'm so glad to have stumbled upon this little fic. It's lovely!
