hi corsakti,
this is out of nowhere (ok it's related to your post. hah) but i am visiting chicago end of march and know you used to live there. i'm looking for any hotel/b&b/inn recommendations you could give. want to be near all the fun stuff, don't want to pay a million bucks or be by mag mile. any ideas? i really appreciate it. even any sites i could check out to find such places would help, too. anything, really. things i must see.

hi! i didnt' see this til now, for some reason.

hotel-wise, i don't have great advice. chicago doesn't have a lot of cool neighborhood hotels like LA and some other cities, i think the majority of hotels worth a damn are either around the mag mile or downtown. some of these are expensive, but if you book in advance and look around you can find deals. the palmer house will never be less than $200 a night, but other ones like the W or the House of Blues hotel sometimes offer much cheaper deals.... i wish i could be of better help and i will ask around to see if anyone has a better idea..
