So I had to use what ribbon I could find. So the Back is red and the front is only temporarily in green. If I used the pattern again I would either raise the front or lower the armholes and add a little to the side seams. ( Photo's behind cut )
Midbust for the bust point is right for 18th century too. I also have odd coloured lacings in some stays and corsets. Just whatever is lying around and is long enough. Your eyelets look great! I'm curious to see how these stays would look on a real body.
Well as they come mid-ish bust and my shift is a bit transparent I'm not comfortablw with puting a photo online. But the lines especially how I taped the seams with the dark blue tape is really effective. It makes my waist look tiny. And pushes my bust up to early regency (1790s-1800) type height. I tried it with my regency dress and the dress fits and sits much more flatteringly.
I've made this corset for myself and am currently making it for my daughter. Neither of my versions end up mid-bust; they definately cover the areola/nipple area. The horizontal boning should be going over the bust, not under it.
