I love that fabric, the color, the design! I've read the other comments, above, and know you found the brocade, ah, challenging to work with---it is, I know from experience, as can some other fabrics be---but the finished product certainly looks worth your efforts!
You ought to be pleased.
So, assuming you're going to build on this success and go on to make another, what have you planned for your next corset? (If it's to be a secret or a surprise, I understand.)
Thank you! I didn't realize when I started that brocade was a challenging fabric, but I really didn't have many issues other than putting in the grommets/eyelets.
I'm not sure what my next one will be; probably a partially to full corded long regency corset. I have a couple of fashion corsets for fun, but I'm mostly interested in making corsets for costuming - at least for now.
I am currently working on a rather ambitious costuming project. It's an 1880's late bustle period outfit, made from the skin up. So far I have the chemise, drawers, and corset, and am working on the bustle petticoat. I'm planning on completing a regular petticoat, corset cover, skirt, overskirt, and jacket, as well as the accessories - hat, stockings, and gloves. Pretty much the only thing I'm not planning on making are the boots!
I'm taking things one piece at a time, so it's taking a while to finish, but I'd really like to have everything done by the end of March 2016. That probably won't happen, but at least it's a goal.

Ooh--that reminds me. You mention costumes, so do you have costumes to wear over these corsets you're making ('...she asked, hopefully.')
