Mod post: Moving or mirroring the community on Dreamwidth?

No decisions have been made at this time. This is an open comment post about the possibility of moving the community (and closing our LJ doors) or mirroring the community (and leaving posting access at both LJ and DW

Thank you for adding the info about what dreamwidth is.
I had never heard of it.

Corsetmakers is the only LJ I read, I don't even have an LJ account (used to have one 10 ish years ago though). I log in via facebook.

What I think is important is that the information (what's in the memories and tags) will be accessible somewhere and that there is still a community somewhere where I can post stuff and interact with corset makers that isn't behind a paywall or completely dead.

As I understand it Dreamwidth keeps both of these a possibility.

If dreamwidth doesn't allow login with facebook I will get a free account.
Whatever needs to be done.

I would at least mirror the community and make sure all the information is safe on dreamwidth when lj goes belly up.
Or just move it all together, if that's easier.

I would agree with mirroring but not leaving LJ. I can't imagine anything in this community being that controversial.

I'd also vote for mirroring, even if temporarily while everyone moves to DW.
