My creative output in the past three years has been woefully low, for reasons which boil down to 'chronic pain and depression suck'. However, at one point in 2013 when I wanted to play with color but didn't feel up to drawing something representational or meaningful, I started playing with my colored pencils and created a sort of dimensionally

The red and gold one, on the green background, does look like it's in the middle of fisticuffs.... or it's Trogdor. I'm not sure.

I'm so glad you put these up! It was interesting to see them in person--I wish the colors translated better, because in person these seem much more vibrant!

Thanks! I had to look up Trogdor, but having seen it, I think you're right!

This medium is pretty hard to reproduce, I'm finding. These are scanned, and about as good as I've gotten. I've been trying to photograph the more recent stuff so I can post it (including the dancer! It's finished!), and the problem is that if I use enough light, or flash, it ends up with a big area of shine on the surface. Will have to try scanning those too.
