⌦ history & personality

History Note: Link will be taken shortly after he causes an explosion to allow his charge to escape from Apocryphos, his memories will pick up from moments after this happens and before he can be further assaulted.

Personality:

Appearances are important to Link. He places high value on cleanliness and neatness on a day-to-day basis. He’s disciplined, conservative, and pays attention to the smallest of details. These traits go hand in hand with Link’s hardworking, practical and well-organized mindset.

When dealing with people, Link treats the situation as professionally as he can. Everyone is valued and shown respect even if he may not like each person he meets. Thusly he will never go out of his way to show discontent to any individual. Link’s pride demands that he upholds a sense of reservation and formality even in the toughest of situations. Bound by the laws he works to uphold: Link is easy to anger with blatant disrespect, rule breaking, and all around irresponsibility.

He won’t ask personal questions and refuses to answer should anyone be foolish enough to intrude on his privacy. There are a select few he let into his heart as a child, who have since recent events either been killed or emotionally destroyed. Prior to this, what personal matters they shared together were not discussed openly with anyone. Though they clearly caused him stress and jostle the demeanor he works to uphold. Because Link lives to work it’s hard for him to separate business from personal life. Which cripples him slightly when it comes to intimacy in any companionship.

In addition to this failure Link only further distances himself from people by remaining on a last name basis unless invited to use a persons first name, and even then he likely won’t call them by it. He prefers to get down to business quickly and engage in relatively little small talk. Communication is direct and to the point, and may even seem blunt at times.

He has no hesitation with jumping into anyone’s conversation: feeling that his arguments are rational as opposed too emotional, all backed up by facts and free to state. With those he is more comfortable around he will exercise this habit to a point of no return. His frequent interjections, nagging, and stubborn nature only fuel his mother hen like tendencies.

Due to his uptight nature Link can be easily flustered and sent into a spiral of discomfort at the very suggestion of something unorthodox. He would never dream of doing anything out of biblical practice, and probably never in his life would have rebelled against the church without just reasoning for doing so.

⌦ nuadoria specific

WHAT ARE THEY BRINGING TO NUADORIA?: A book containing recipes for desserts, a pair of reading glasses, and a moleskin journal to take notes in. As far as weapons go he does have two hidden switchblades: one attached to each arm, along with a surplus of magic scrolls (which are mostly only good for causing explosions, creating barriers, and slowing down or immobilizing enemies.)

YOUR CHARACTER'S ELEMENT: Darkness
WHAT IS THEIR GESTALT?: Normal form: White Crow Battle form: White Phoenix.

HOW WILL THIS CHARACTER FIT INTO THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE GAME?:
Link comes from a warring world: in which his side is losing: Horrific sights, exposure to the sick, dead, and grotesque is something he grown used to thanks to his years of service within the Vatican.

He is not a man of heroic tendencies but he is a trained informant, and would do well in organizing others and aiding in the attempts to discover meaning behind the destruction. Link’s first instinct will be to learn as much as he can about the world, and then to make a plan of action based upon what he finds. Whether it is to remain blended within the masses or take the offensive is completely up to what he determines is the least damaging to their cause.

✔ FIRST PERSON SAMPLE:

[ Link had been in a losing fight not five minutes ago: The burning feeling on his abdomen, the pain that tremor through his body, even the smell of blood was no surprise, all of this he expected. ]

What in the Lord’s name-

[ When he’d opened his eyes, his body didn’t ache as much as it should have. Something he’d look into after he found out where he was. Link remembered Apacryphos walking towards his immobilized form just moments ago. Yet the familiar walls of neither the order’s infirmary nor the bricks that lined the cell of the fugitive he just aided greeted him when he looked around. ]

-is going on here.

✔ THIRD PERSON SAMPLE:
Link walked down the damp cobblestone halls to where he knew the confinement cells to be. His charge, Allen had been there for days and was proving to be as stubborn as he always was. It should have been a relief to the inspector, to know that despite everything going on in the young boys mind: war, the death of a comrade, and the shadows of the enemy closing in, that he still was able to hold onto the truest parts of himself.

Yet at the boys refusal to eat his irritation flared. Maybe it was Link’s distaste for defiance, but he knew it had more to do with his own desire to see the other survive. His job for the last few months had been to strictly observe and keep the boy in line, then report his findings. He would never vocalize the thought process: but he had come to view the other as a comrade, and maybe in some stretch of the word a friend. He had become familiar with all his habits, speaking mannerisms, and especially the others stubborn altruistic nature.

There was a monster living inside Allen quickly making its presence known and the order had no idea on how to stop it other than to kill Allen. Something a heartless man who only cared for his position, would let pass without the blink of an eye.

A heartless man was what Link looked like on the outside, but here he was at the cell door to his charge, a bowl of warm food at hand for the third day in a row now making an attempt to get the boy to eat. He’d be damned if the food was wasted, and if that meant forcing it down the others throat then so be it.

Link was not willing to watch another comrade fall to the hands of the enemy. Not when there was something clearly within his control, and it started with getting Allen to eat.
