As for the rest, former Southern Democrats turned Southern Republicans and many others feel jilted by the demographic changes that resulted in two election wins by Obama. Don't agree completely with everything he's done; wish he had better understood and used the political power he had at the beginning. But his election has certainly pushed the racism of many to the forefront. And, yes, both Trump and Cruz are the almost inevitable results.
