I'm so sorry you had to do hard thing that ended the suffering of another. Hugs.

:( That's really hard, but was likely the best thing you could've done for it. I always dread when I'm driving that I might run over something, but not well enough to kill it and then have to do something similar.

12 year olds do not understand that sometimes "terrible" things really aren't. Still have a bit of that rose colored that everything can be fixed. Unfortunately, it can't. 31 year olds know better, and do what needs to be done.

I'm sorry you had to do that.

The act of kindness wasn't very kind on you, but it made an innocent creature suffer less. I hope you got some much needed sleep.

I'm so sorry you had such an experience, but I think what you did was really, really brave, it must have taken an incredible amount of mental strength, and although sad, it is probably what would have happened in the end, but with less suffering for the little creature. I guess in some ways, the amount of various forms of energy is balanced; his/her suffering lasted shorter, but now you (most regrettably) carry a burden for a while. Or something... I'm not sure it can be made sense of ( ... )

You did a hard and kind thing. Life seen through an adult's eyes is much more complicated than that seen by a child. It doesn't make the child's view wrong or even less appealing, it just lacks some nuance of truth. As usual, the right thing is not always the easy one.
