Spectrum in the clouds?

On Monday, as I was driving, I saw a spectrum (the rainbow colors) in the clouds. It was horizontal and took up the span of two outstretched hands (around 36º), it was about 3º high, quite bright and with the red on top

I think perhaps a horizontal rainbow, aka a Fire Rainbow, which has a fancy "correct" name.

I just read this article, so when scrolling by this post on my friends list I initially read the title as "Speculum in the clouds?" Fortunately, your actual story is much cooler and much less disturbing.
